"Wearing The Turban"

A kindly gaze towards the viewer was the intention behind this work.
Thick impasto paint illuminating the light areas, contrast the rich thin
glazes supporting the image as a whole.
The subject’s hand is used as a device to help balance the image. This is a
typical device which was used in 16th and 17th Century paintings of the
Dutch and Flemish schools.
