"Arabic Heads"
Oil on canvas
An original portrayal of three completely different personalities,
concentrating on each individual’s expression.
The artist decided to use an odd rather than an even number of heads, so
that the composition would break the idea of strong symmetry.
Each face depicts a feeling of serenity, even though they all seem
weather-beaten. The three different heads are consistent to the typical look
that one may find in Egypt.
The blue background compliments the warm colours found within each of the
faces. The blue tint also disrupts what would otherwise be a very earth
coloured painting.
