"An Old Man"

Red Pencil on Tinted Panel

The old man was inspired by great drawings from the Renaissance period. I photographed the model and then created my own composition. The panel was tinted with an oil colour and once dry, the drawing began. Any highlights were created by using a rubber to erase the oil ground, which in turn would reveal the white under layer.
